ABOUT SUGARBELLY RECORDS
Sugarbelly Records has emerged from the bedroom studio of producer/ composer Jelto van Nieuwburg into hard reality in 2005. Starting out as a web-based label it embraced the digital age and secured large Internet distribution deals in its first year of existence. Their first digital release, Oi! from U-Monks, hit several online top 10 charts, which was a great encouragement to proceed their present course for success. It led to a physical distribution deal with Lowlands Distribution in January 2006.
The labels’ key concept is to release great sounding (dance) music and to grow in a slow but steady pass in order to build a good base for its artists.
While the labels’ roots are in breaks, Sugarbelly Records is not a purist label. We are dedicated to give talented artists from various disciplines maximum exposure and artistic freedom. Or, if required, help the artists out in the creative process with one of our skilled producers. Sugarbelly Records has become a tight family of creative minds, which is destined to cause fresh waves in the (inter) national music scene.
“It's clear that this label aims for quality.” Bijou Breaks.com, USA
Sugarbelly Records Artists
U-Monks, Breaks The band has been gathering momentum as they have grown and evolved with their music. Being based in Holland, there are loads of innovative acts so to rise above the rest; U-Monks have relied solely on their experience and talent to shape their market. They receive support from an ever-growing international fan base as well as established web radio stations and communities like for instance Nu skool breaks radio and triple award winning Breaks FM. U-Monks objective is to release good sounding music to the public through their parent label, Sugarbelly Records, and if these releases are anything to go by, that should be an inevitable event.
“Like it allot, very good!” Zarbizar, Breaks FM
4Moonfish, Indie-dance and electronic ballads that is what 4moonfish stands for. The band has been leaping forward as they have evolved and grown with their music over the past 5 years. Started out as a Triphop and New Wave formation, 4Moonfish radically changed in 2006 into a mature and eclectic electronic band. Diverging in style from indietronic and electro, to disco and drum & bass, the band brings catchy tunes in an edgy style. The wide range of musical backgrounds amongst the 4 members of 4Moonfish makes their music fresh and unique. Album: Fall 2006
Eva van Nieuwburg, singer songwriter No doubt Eva has a great future ahead of her! This singer-songwriter breathes talent, it should come as no surprise she dissents from a family where the artist trade goes back for generations. Eva has been playing in the Netherlands, Germany and the UK; she has won several ‘best talent’ contests, and has a loyal and ever-growing fan base. Besides being a project singer for Sugarbelly Records and the lead singer of 4Moonfish, she is now working on an album of her own, which we plan to release in the beginning of 2007.
‘Beautiful songs. Radiant voice. Don’t miss it...” Inspirational arts festival, London
A New Line, Alternative/ Electropop: What will happen if you take 4 highly skilled rock musicians (Who BTW won a shit load of talent contests), a dance / breaks producer and an all round producer and mix it up? Well, you’ll have to wait for the end result but it seems to be a winning formula. Stay tuned for the upcoming album of A New Line! |
